My pride, and first self-made bonsai

This is my pride, i bought a small plant from the garden center, a Chamaecyparis pisifera 'baby blue' for about €6,- (dollar is about the same) and shaped it into a small bonsai tree myself. It turned out very beautiful if i may so so myself.

This is the plant i bought on February 25th 2019 and after removing the soil and exposing it's branches a bit by trimming away the redundant foliage a bit to see what i actually got.

After potting and and trimming it a bit more i wired it 2 days later, the wiring is absolutely horrible, i know, it was my first time...

Meanwhile i kept it in shape a bit, and after 2 months i removed the wiring to see if it had worked already (i don't have the patience that you actually need for bonsai apparently ;))

Most of it had turned out perfectly, there where only two branches i rewired to adjust their location a little more.

Budget Bonsai, introduction

Unlike many other things and unlike many people think, Bonsai isn't just for the wealthy.

I won't be explaining how to care for Bonsai and all that, there are plenty of others who already tell you how to do Bonsai, i will be showing of mine a bit though. But i will tell you how to do that with a small budget.
Now, honestly, there probably will be some (more experienced) Bonsai people who don't think this is the "real" bonsai way...well, sorry about that then, this is my way 😉
Any questions and suggestions i would love to hear.

 It all started out when i bought a cheap bonsai in the garden center to make a mini-garden/fairy garden, again mine is not following the official ways of those two, so i named it a Goblin garden 😉, isn't it cute?

So that's the evil one that got me into Bonsai. 😄

This is a Zanthoxylum Piperitum, i'm mainly trying to get it fuller, more leaves. Works well, it makes allot of new leaves but has a long way to go.


For some reason i never can get pictures that show how the tree really looks like, i have that problem with all of them.
